Desk Tour #1
Home Studio of Software Developer Masud Imran

This tour features Masud, a Software Developer working remotely at his home studio in Bangladesh. His setup features a minimalist approach, showing all you need are some well curated essentials to make an ideal setup!

Tell us a bit about yourself!

I'm a Software Developer, really into AI, IoT, and making apps for mobile devices. I've been involved in a bunch of research projects, where I got to explore Data Analytics, Machine Learning, and Sentiment Analysis. Outside of work, I'm all about gaming and playing table tennis for fun. Currently, I'm working remotely for a Malaysian software development company, right from my home in Bangladesh.

Can you describe the main components of your setup?

Desk : It’s Basically a dinning table I had lying around in my house, I wanted a deeper desk and this one kinda fits my needs for the time being. Chair : Also a generic office chair I got from local shop Monitor : This is a Redmi 2K monitor, it gets the job done nothing special Laptop : M1 Pro 16 inch MacBook, primarily used for work Xbox : That’s series S, pretty much the cheapest way I found to get back to gaming and it’s worth it. Keyboard and Mice : Well a Keychron keyboard and Mx Master 3 mouse, self explanatory. Nothing much really everything else is kinda nice to have but above are the essentials

What inspires your setup?

Minimalism & Functionality.

Do you have any favourite elements or color schemes?

Nothing really but I try to avoid Rainbow RGB as much as possible

How has your desk setup evolved over time?

Well, it's all about timing and necessity. Things were different when I was a student studying in Malaysia; my interests evolved as I experimented with various things, and yes, sometimes that meant spending money on what might seem like whims. Over the years, I've tried numerous configurations. You can take a look at my previous setups here.

Considering any upgrades?

Maybe a nicer monitor!

If there were no limitations, what would be a dream addition?

Apple Studio Display would the number one and also maybe the latest MacBook to go along with it haha.

What is your favourite item?

Gotta be the MacBook Pro, Apple Silicon has been nothing but superb for me

Any final words before you go?

If you are feeling uninspired, take a deep breathe and go at it again. Repeat few times until you decide to do something else that serves you right.
